Our Mission Statement

THTGF is a 501c3 organization that has been established to help the hungry and the poor people of the Kwazulu Natal region of South Africa and orphan children and disabled people of Uganda.
Nearly half the adult population of South Africa lives in poverty. The South African government measures poverty by three threshold points. … According to the Department of Statistics in South Africa, 49.2% of the population over the age of 18 falls below the upper-bound poverty line. Lack of access to employment is arguably the single greatest cause of rural poverty.
South Africa has the biggest HIV epidemic in the world, with 7.7 million people living with HIV.
Only 95 out of 100 children born in Uganda survive to age 5. Undernutrition is high and stunting affects 29% of children in Uganda aged 5 years and below. Uganda’s population of 42 million is expected to reach 100 million by 2050, while the annual urban growth rate of 5.2% is among the highest in the world and is expected to grow from 6.4 million (2014) to 22 million by 2040.

Uganda has an orphan crisis with over 2.5 million orphans, according to a UNICEF study. An orphaned child is often alone in an adult world. The effects of a child becoming an orphan are terrible and include improper nutrition. Orphans often do not have the means to properly feed themselves. So why are there so many orphans? It is estimated that 1.2 million children are orphaned due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. That leaves 1.3 million children that are orphaned due to preventable diseases, food security and poverty.

Pamba Tomasi Gainnes

Pamba Tomasi Gainnes is the founder of St. Elizabeth’s Home of Angels Orphanage and Primary School. In 2018, THTGF began assisting SEHOA and have since joined a partnership. Pamba is THTGF Ugandan Director. At the age of 15, Pamba’s parents lost their lives in a taxi accident.

Since that horrible date, Pamba made a promise to himself to help other orphaned children.  Today there are 38 children at St. Elizabeth’s Home of Angels Orphanage and over 300 community children that attend the primary school. Pamba is a member of the Musoga Tribe and is considered a leader in his community.  THTGF has fed many hungry Ugandans and has helped better the lives for many people due to the Pamba’s hard work and determination.  Pamba is also attending community college and plans to graduate one day with a BS in Business Administration.
