We’ve just been given the opportunity to receive a matching challenge grant! The Heart That Gives Foundation will receive an additional $5,000 if we’re able to raise the same amount by the end of the Kentucky State Fair Horse Show, which begins on Monday, August 21st. Our deadline to meet this amount is August 27th!
This wonderful opportunity would allow THTGF to reach our first time goal of purchasing food for 20 families in the KwaZulu Natal area. These families are in serious need of our assistance. They receive no grants, no government pensions and have no jobs. With this money, we could provide food on a monthly basis for at least eight months. No steak or chicken dinners, but a big bag of beans, rice, maize meal, sugar, cooking oil, and few fruits and vegetables. This food is only enough to keep them from going hungry.
I have looked into the eyes of many hungry men, women and children. It is a look of sadness and hopelessness that I now see everyday in my mind.
The Heart That Gives Foundation is a registered 501c3 non-profit and your donation is fully tax deductible. I started this charitable foundation because I wanted to be sure that every dime I raise goes towards taking care of the desperate people I have grown to love in the Zulu villages of South Africa. I hope you will join THTGF in this cause to end hunger and despair.
